An Outdoor Art Camp in Prospect Park

Brooklyn Trails Summer Camp is a nature-based art camp for children ages 3–8, offering Brooklyn families a creative and nurturing outdoor summer experience in the heart of Prospect Park.

Our program offers a summer experience that prioritizes depth over busyness. Instead of fast-paced rotations, children engage in sustained creative work, collaborative storytelling, and exploratory park adventures that nurture independence and meaningful friendships. This slower, process-rich rhythm allows our group to feel grounded, confident, and fully immersed in the magic of summer.

With nature as our canvas, our outdoor art camp creates a playful sanctuary where young artists explore creative expression, nature play, and environmental stewardship. Through open-ended art projects and daily nature adventures, children develop confidence, curiosity, and a deep connection to the natural world.

Each day, children engage in open ended crafting that blends storytelling, and outdoor exploration within a community rooted in kindness, cooperation, and thoughtful expression. Our approach encourages big questions, imaginative thinking, and creative problem-solving while honoring each child’s unique communication style and sensory needs.

Designed to go beyond traditional art classes, Brooklyn Trails supports autonomy and process-based learning. Days unfold at a gentle pace with time for observation, imaginative play, and meaningful creative work that often spans multiple days, allowing children to revisit ideas and experience the joy of process over product.

Through thoughtful guidance and child-led experiences, we cultivate inclusivity, leadership, and resilience. Brooklyn Trails is especially loved by imaginative and curious children seeking a calm, collaborative learning environment rich in creativity, pretend play, and nature connection.

Join our forest camp community this summer as children immerse themselves in art-making, nature exploration, and whimsical Prospect Park adventures that spark creativity, confidence, and a deep sense of belonging.
